FK Zalgiris Kaunas coach talks VCF Academy World Cup win

FK Zalgiris Kaunas were the winners of the inaugural VCF Academy World Cup, beating the VCF Soccer Academy from Greece in the tournament final. The Lithuanian club entered the competition courtesy of their strategic alliance with the VCF Academy, and showed their talent with a series of wonderful goals.

 

Speaking after the win, coach Sarunas Terleckis said that “this was a good experience for us. It was a good atmosphere, good weather and everything was perfect. It has been an incredible and very different experience. If we can, we will come back next year."

30th anniversary of Ciutat Esportiva

This first edition of the VCF Academy World Cup coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna, which is celebrated in 2022. The different teams that participate in the tournament will be able to appreciate the new theme of the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna and learn in depth the values ​​project carried out by the VCF Academy.

During this time, it has not stopped growing in terms of the available resources and the improvement of the working methodology to train football players for the elite and educate the nearly 450 boys and girls who train every day on their playing pitches after the full integration of the entire women's structure in the VCF Academy and in the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna.

In these 30 years there are more than 100 players who, having trained at the VCF Academy, have debuted in an official match with the first team, six of them this season: César Tárrega, Cristhian Mosquera, Rubén Iranzo, Javi Guerra, Jesús Santiago Yellu and Mario Dominguez.

The Valencia CF Soccer Camps, Training Stages, the VCF Soccer Academy and Sports Consulting services are just a few examples of this great project.
